As you can see, all my most recent photos don't have a name. There are two reasons for that,
The first is due to a Portuguese photographer called Aníbal Sequeira that say'd :
- A fotografia artistica não é ( não deve ser ) veiculo difusor de outras formas de expressão nem nelas se deve socorrer. Dispensa legendas mais ou menos "filosoficas", densas e profundas, exoticas ou contundentes. Tais "discursos" revelam-se, sempre, ociosos na vã tentativa de introduzir numa imagem o que ela simplesmente não contem. -
- Artistic photography is not (should not) a vehicle diffuser of other forms of expression and should not need rescue from them. She does not need titles or descriptions more or less "philosophical", dense and deep, exotic and compelling. Such "statements" reveal themselves, always idle in the vain attempt to introduce in an image something that she simply does not contain.. -
The second : If we simply look at an image, right away we feel something due to what we SEE and are able to withdrew from the same image, if we first or secondly read that "philosophical" title that felling that we get from the image disapears because we will be forever attach to that title or desciption. So by looking simple at an image with no title the felling we get is PURE.
You try it. Look at one of my photos with no title, and later give it a title and see the diference.
